Print-on-demand designs need transparent backgrounds, but AI generators love putting your artwork on a solid backdrop. Cutting it out by hand in Photoshop or Canva is slow — and the automatic “photo” removers often chew up graphic art.

Common questions
What images does it work best on?
Design graphics on a solid or near-solid background — exactly what AI generators produce. For busy photographic backgrounds, a halftone conversion (also free in MerchForge) is often the better POD trick.
What does the Contiguous switch do?
Like Photoshop's Magic Wand: it only removes background connected to the image edges, so large enclosed areas of the same colour — a white shirt, a big banner — stay in the design. Small pockets like letter holes are still cleared, and the ✎ brush can restore anything you want back.
Will white parts of my design disappear on a white background?
Not the large ones with Contiguous mode on — it removes the outer white background while keeping big white areas inside the artwork. Small white details can still be cleared; bring them back in one click with the ✎ brush's Restore mode.
Do I need Photoshop or a subscription?
