Vectorise your design and download an SVG
Clean vector shapes, background removed, scales to any size — free and private.
Free · no watermark · your designs stay on your device
AI design tools hand you a PNG. Print-on-demand loves a PNG too — right up until you want to scale the artwork up, recolour a shape, or hand a file to a designer. Then you need vectors.
MerchForge's Vector trace redraws your design as flat vector shapes: near-identical tones merge into one clean fill, the background is stripped as part of the trace, and stray edge specks from AI generation are filtered out. You get an SVG that stays sharp at any size.
It runs entirely in your browser — no credits, no per-file pricing, and your artwork is never uploaded anywhere.
How it works
- Step 1Drop your design
PNG, JPG or WebP — one design or a batch.
- Step 2Tick Vector trace
It replaces the raster tools: the tracer redraws the design and removes the background in one pass.
- Step 3Download the SVG
Scales to any size. Also tick Resize if you'd rather have a print-ready PNG at Amazon Merch size instead.
What you get
- True vector output — download as SVG, edit in Illustrator, Affinity, Inkscape or Kittl
- Background removed as part of the trace, including inside letters
- Similar tones merge into one flat colour instead of dozens of noisy shapes
- Edge specks and anti-aliasing leftovers filtered out automatically
- Or export a print-ready PNG at 4500×5400 by adding Resize
- Free, unlimited, and runs on your device — nothing is uploaded
Common questions
What file do I get?
An SVG by default — real vector paths that scale to any size. If you also tick Resize, you get a PNG at your chosen print size instead, rendered from those vectors.
Does it remove the background too?
Yes. Background removal is part of the trace, so you don't need to run the background remover separately.
What kind of art works best?
Flat, bold artwork — the kind AI generators make for t-shirts — traces beautifully. Line art and engravings collapse to clean black. Soft airbrushed gradients are the hardest case for any vectorizer, including paid ones.
Is it really free?
Yes. There are no credits, no watermark and no per-file charge. The tracing runs in your browser, so it costs nothing to serve.
